German bus company Neisseverkehr GmbH ordered a fleet management system including Aplicom vehicle computers for the complete bus fleet. Neisseverkehr which is located in Guben in Eastern Germany runs a fleet of 80 busses.
During spring 2005 all busses will be fitted with Aplicom F-series computers. The Aplicom units are equipped with internal GPRS modems for data communication, handsfree-kit for voice communication, GPS receivers for automatic vehicle location (AVL), touchscreen and SkyCom software. The units are used to to exchange text and status messages between control room and busses, to locate the busses, to control when busses arrive at bus-stops (geofencing) and to establish voice communication to predefined numbers.

The customer now required a new GPRS based system including voice call support and we participated in the tender.
