I was honoured to be asked to be Aplicom CEO after Lasse Paakkola stepped down and left the company. For the last four years, I have been taking care of Aplicom’s supply chain, quality and service production.
As the new CEO, I would like to give a big thank you to Lasse for all he has done to develop our working methods and company atmosphere. Aplicom is a great place to work and this will continue into the future.
Aplicom has been a pioneer in the developing telematics industry for more than two decades, and what we do today ensures that we will continue to be for the next twenty years as well. This means investing in the development of our competence, the introduction of new services and devices, and the improvement of our current services. Throughout the ongoing component crisis that started in 2021, our long-term customer relationships have kept our business going, and for this I want to thank every one of our customers.
I feel a great sadness for the events in Ukraine, and I hope that the war will end as soon as possible. Despite this, I would like to remind you that the Finnish business environment remains stable and continues to create value for our customers. Our supply chain is scalable and international, and has withstood the turbulence caused by global crises thanks to local manufacturing. This gives a sense of security to our customers and helps them to plan their everyday operations, even though costs are increasing everywhere.
The IoT and telematics market continues to grow strongly, and the solutions produced by the industry can be applied in many different areas.The amount of data coming from vehicles and other assets is increasing. I believe that modern cloud-based machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) solutions start to take role in adding value when analyzing data. We see more and more companies to start building new IoT-solutions on top of public clouds.
The demand for new Silver Cloud service platform combined with T10 and T10 G devices is also growing. This solution is perfectly suited for fleet management or, for example, collecting data for predictive maintenance. With the help of device management, updates and maintenance are safe and cost-effective.
